Guidance in Funding Options for Assisted Living and Residential Care Homes
Platinum Senior Services is committed to easing the financial considerations associated with Assisted Living and Residential Care homes. While these housing options are primarily privately funded, we recognize the importance of supplementing costs through available avenues.
– Long Term Care Insurance: Explore whether your loved one has long term care insurance that can contribute towards the cost of care.
– Veterans Benefits: Leverage qualifying Veterans benefits, including Aide and Attendance Benefits and Housebound Allowance.
According to the Veterans Aid and Attendance website, you may be eligible if:
– Assistance Need: You require help with daily activities like bathing, feeding, and dressing.
– Bedridden: You spend a significant portion of the day in bed due to illness.
– Nursing Home Patient: You are a patient in a nursing home due to disability-related mental or physical decline.
– Limited Eyesight: Your eyesight is limited, meeting specific criteria even with visual aids.
If you spend most of your time at home due to a permanent disability, you may be eligible for Housebound Benefits.
Note: Aid and Attendance benefits and Housebound benefits cannot be received simultaneously.
Visit the VA website to determine eligibility and understand the application process for these valuable benefits.
